Writing a Compelling Event Page

A well-written event page is worth its weight in gold. Not only can it save you time by providing valuable details to attendees such as date, time, and venue information, but it can also convince guests who are on the fence about registering to commit to attending.

Need a little help getting started? We’ve come up with three tried and true techniques for crafting a compelling event page. Let’s get started!

Establish the What and the Why.

What Why Who Eventbrite Event Page

First, identify who your ideal attendees are. Once you’ve narrowed your target demographic, it makes it much easier to answer these other questions:

What makes your event different?

Why would someone want to attend?

What will attendees get out of your event?

There are a lot of events that happen every day, make sure that potential attendees see the value and worth in what you’re offering, and convince them to register!

Details, Details, Details.

Details Event Page

Pretend you know nothing about your event. Obviously include the important details: date, time, venue name, address, etc. But also think about other things your attendees might want to know: Is there a special dress code? Is there parking nearby? What about public transit? If people have questions about the event, how can they reach you? Is there an event hashtag? Do guests need to bring anything special? Eventbrite makes it really easy to add FAQs right to your event details section, too.

You catch our drift. If you’re not sure whether you should include something or not, remember this: you can never provide too many details.

Check Yo’ Self.

Check the spelling and the grammar of everything you’ve written. Then read it out loud to yourself. Then ask a friend to check it. Then ask your mom to check it. Or a coworker. Simple spelling or grammar errors make your event page look unprofessional and sloppy, and can be a turnoff to potential attendees.

Follow these three steps and your event page will be sure to impress. If you’re interested in making your page look good, don’t worry — we can help you with that too. Anything you’d add? Tell us in the comments below!
