It’s been said that people seem way too happy about working at Eventbrite. Last year, Business Insider even called our office one of the happiest they’ve ever seen. Between the team outings to the trampoline park, massages on Wellness Wednesday, and a kegbot in the kitchen, we can see why.
But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Our awesome job perks and amazing company culture has made us so happy that we’ve become isolated from friends and family members. Additionally, we’ve foolishly blown through our happiness quota. That’s right. We were too happy, too often, so we have to make some changes.
Many of the changes will be internal. For example: no more pets will be allowed in the office unless they look like Grumpy Cat, all potted plants will be replaced with Venus Flytraps, and the Zen Room will now be known as the Panic and Anxiety Room.
We’ve also been working with a licensed Unhappiness Expert who has helped us with a bit of rebranding. Starting immediately, you’ll notice that we’ve changed our name from Eventbrite to Eventdark. We’ve also found that orange is far too cheerful, so our logo is now a particular shade of deep purple, clinically proven to introduce melancholy contemplantion.
