Washington Post blogger, Zach Goldfarb, recently lamented the apparent rift in DC’s tech community as evidenced by the separateness of its parties: “On Wednesday night [... ] the local technology community came out in full force — but in two very different places. It was striking — there was almost no overlap between the two parties, the people who attended, the companies that were represented. In essence, it was the two sides of the Washington technology coin. On one side were the established technology companies, many of them serving the government and business customers — and on the other were the young start-ups hoping to make it big in a Web 2.0 world.”

In an attempt to heal the divide, DC-based social media firm iStrategy Labs is hosting a “Twin Tech Party” — In their own words: By mixing together the so called ‘new tech’ crowd with veterans in the industry, we think sparks will fly: deals will get done, startups will get funded, partners will meet, companies will find talent and our tech ecosystem will become stronger as a result.” How cool is that! Best of luck with your event, fellas.
