Update (12.7.11): We’ve been receiving a number of calls about the IPC scanner. We’re so excited that you’re interested in our latest foray into entry management! Please note, however, that the product is being tested this month as we continue to fine-tune it for wide release in 2012. We’re so sorry for any confusion. The iPhone app from which it runs is currently available. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at the number below!
You know those kids in Kindergarten who were always playing with Legos? A few of them probably work for us now, helping to make entry management easier for organizers everywhere.
We needed to test our new IPC laser scanner, the latest technology we’re looking into for checking in attendees. So, our mobile team of rockstars built a robot. A Lego robot, to be exact. See it in action below.
The IPC laser scanner is a sled-like device, built on top of the iPhone Easy Entry app v3 – which you can currently download and use to check-in your guests. When an iPhone is connected to the IPC, the ticket scanning feature automatically uses the laser to scan barcodes instead of the iPhone camera. That gray arm, pressing the button on our iPhone Easy Entry app? That’s you, slashing wait times as you check-in attendees at ninja-speed.
We’ve been testing the product, and early results have shown that the IPC laser empowers organizers to scan more than 50 percent faster than with an iPhone camera. It’s also super easy to train staff to use it and is a great solution in low light conditions. When the IPC unit is detached, the scan feature reverts back to the camera mode.
Stay tuned for more updates on the scanner as we plan its release in 2012. If you’re looking for more info on the IPC laser scanner, feel free to leave a comment below or contact us with questions. In the meantime, keep playing with your Legos. You may just come up with the next great invention for helping to make check-ins at events even easier!
