You know the rush of excitement you get when the lights go down at the theatre and the show is about to begin? That’s how we feel today.
We’re excited to announce that we’re teaming up with Tribeca Film Festival — passes and packages went on sale this week! Founded in 2001 by Jane Rosenthal, Robert De Niro and Craig Hatkoff, Tribeca Film Festival celebrates New York City as a major filmmaking center and supports emerging and established directors having screened more than 1,400 films from more than 80 countries since its inception. This year, 89 films will screen at the festival, with 53 making their world premieres.
New this year, Eventbrite is bringing the latest ticketing technology to the attendees of the festival. It’s THE ticket to hundreds of films shown throughout New York City from April 17-28. Our mobile registration makes it easy to purchase tickets and passes on the go, whether you’re rollerblading through Central Park or planning your NYC trip from London. Using Eventbrite for mobile, you’ll also be able to store all of your tickets on your phone and add them to Passbook for iOS to quickly pull up at the theatre. (But you’ll still be able to print if you want to.)
Looking for interesting films, or want to see which films your friends are going to? We’ve got you covered. Festival-goers will be able to easily share their film-watching plans with friends on Facebook and Twitter, and see which of their Facebook friends will be attending films on Eventbrite’s directory and on their iPhone (Android coming soon) with our latest Eventbrite for iOS update.
Planning on being in NYC this April? Check out the Tribeca Film Festival site for more info– including the comprehensive guide to this year’s film slate that went live this week. Ticket packages are on sale now, and single tickets will go on sale April 9th to American Express Cardmembers and April 15th to the general public. We’ll see you in the Big Apple next month. Save us some popcorn!
