Eventbrite Performing Arts Grant: Where Are They Now, Vol. 1

Last fall, we announced our first-ever Bay Area Eventbrite Performing Arts Grant. After reviewing close to 50 applications — everything from dance troops to improv groups, we finally narrowed the applications down to ten finalists, and then down to three winners: Alphabet Rockers, CounterPULSE, and Ray of Light Theatre. Each group received $1,000 to help produce an event this spring. After months of planning, practicing and promoting — we’re excited to show you the final products!

First up, we checked out CounterPULSE‘s May Day 2013 performance, a celebration of their 8th anniversary. May Day showcased and raised funds for a diverse array of local artists over three nights. We were lucky enough to be able to score two seats for the opening night. I’ll be honest though, I never used the whole seat.  If you’re in the Bay Area and can catch one of their future performances, I highly suggest checking them out!
